3 Ways to Style Summer Dresses in the Fall
Before saying goodbye to your summer wardrobe, think of ways you can layer pieces to turn those summery looks into fall outfits. The same goes for your little one. If she’s growing at the speed of light, chances are you’re spending a lot of money on new clothes faster than she can wear them. The best thing about fall fashion is that it requires layering to keep warm, and there is no wrong way when it comes to adding layers. If you’re looking for ways to turn those summer pieces into fall and winter fashion statements, here are three easy ways to do just that.
1. The Summer Dress
Summer dresses are a staple in every girl’s summer wardrobe. There are so many ways to repurpose a dress for fall. For example, Presley Couture pink dresses for girls can be paired with a few options. For warmer fall days, a simple pair of leggings underneath will keep her warm throughout the day if the dress has short sleeves. For added warmth, add a denim jacket so that she can take it on or off according to the weather.
2. The Summer Skirt
Like the summer dress, the summer skirt can also be paired with leggings for cooler days. If it’s a lighter day, you can use cute leg warmers or knee high socks for a fashion statement. A turtleneck bodysuit or a long sleeve jumpsuit underneath is another easy way to keep your little one warm, layered and fashionable. Since the skirt will do the talking, make sure that the leggings, bodysuit or jumpsuit are monotone muted colors such as black, white, or another color that will complement the skirt.
3. The Summer Top
Tank tops and spaghetti straps are a popular summer item in every girl’s closet. But just because it’s fall doesn’t mean you can’t incorporate these pieces into fall styles. Just like the summer dress, you can layer these summer shirts to be stylish. Tank tops can always be worn underneath any outfit to provide extra warmth if it’s cool but not quite so much as to use a jacket. If the top is a spaghetti strap, you can use it to layer over a plain long sleeve shirt for a pop of color. If the top has short sleeves, you can use a long sleeve button up shirt such as a denim or plaid shirt to layer over it. Pair it with some leggings, jeans or sweats for a more casual “street style” look.
The key to turning summer fashion into fall and winter fashion is by accessorizing. Use socks, beanies, scarves and long sleeve tops to layer on top or underneath, and most importantly use leggings. You can never have too many leggings during the fall and winter months. If you’re not using leggings as part of your look, you can definitely use them underneath a pair of jeans or another pair of pants for extra chili days. The more accessories you use, the more stylish the outfit and the more options your little one will have to reuse those summer outfits she enjoyed so much.
